In this Mirfield property the home the owners were looking for a way to maximize the space for their growing family. The location of their property provided them with all the local amenities they needed and enjoyed, so decided to invest in their home to create a space that would work for their family instead of moving.
As a detached 3-bedroom house with limited outside space to extend, the only practical way to increase square footage was to go up into the loft space and also convert the unused downstairs space. A dormer loft conversion to the rear of the property, allowed for two additional bedrooms and a bathroom to be added, whilst creating a spacious kitchen diner downstairs.
The dormer windows across the back of the loft conversion allowed for a huge amount of natural light to flood into the rooms, making a light and bright space that really maximise the new rooms. The dormer style loft conversion has meant that the loft conversion does not feel dark and compact, as the loft conversion has maximum head height.
Downstairs we transformed what used to be a cold and unappealing space into a light and bright kitchen dining space. Using Bi-fold patio doors across the back of kitchen ensured that plenty of light could flood into the property and create a space the whole family could enjoy.
The entire project was completed on time and on budget, providing the family with all the space they need. The significant amount of space the from transforming the unused downstairs space and dormer loft conversion instantly increased the value of the property and provided the family with the much-needed additional space. It really benefitted the owner to maximize the space available to them instead of buying a larger property with an already significantly higher price tag on.
